Daniel Zajicek / Listening to Fireflies
Daniel Zajicek是美國的作曲家兼跨領域藝術家，太太是台灣人，他倆剛從北京結束一場電子音樂的表演，便於5/26直接飛抵台灣。之前就和Daniel Zajicek來回通信了幾次，因為這次來台他在北藝大音樂系有個簡單的工作坊，並且在北藝大圖書館路口處將展出一件聲音裝置藝術作品，所以希望我可以在裝置製作上提供一些協助，大概是這樣。
27號的早上見面，聊了聊才發現，原來Daniel Zajicek的太太是王曉嵐；她在北德州大學取得音樂藝術博士學位，和鄭建文老師是博士班的同班同學，目前居住且任教於美國蒙大拿州立大學音樂系任教。又再次證明了，世界小的有點微妙。

那天和Daniel Zajicek兩人一起實地奮戰製作他的聲音裝置藝術作品－Listening to Fireflies 聆聽螢火蟲的聲音。上午討論、改patch，下午規劃裝置架構、瘋狂焊接led電路，傍晚直接上作品，最後在圖書館的晚安曲結束關門前調整完畢。
作品完成的那刻，我倆都笑了（竟然弄完了）。

永遠都看似要開天窗，但永遠總在要開天窗前弄完，這就是佈展。
展出時間至2010/6/7。如果經過北藝大，不妨可以去圖書館門口，看看Daniel Zajicek這件令人有點舒服的作品，你可以靜靜的觀看，靜靜的聆聽，靜靜的等待，咕嚕。

Description:
Soft sounds accompany lights contained inside folded spaces. Like
fireflies, the lights flicker as we listen. This installation was
developed using Max/MSP and Arduino technologies to take advantage of
the unique space located in the entranceway to the library at National
Taipei University of the Arts. Listening to Fireflies helps transform
a transitory space into one of quiet contemplation.
Materials:
Parchment paper, wires, LED lights, resistors, an Arduino Duemilanove,
a sensor, and a computer running Max/MSP
